Kittens Keep Each Other Close and Comforted After Being Left Behind, and Blossom into Beautiful Cats Together

KingdomOfCat Admin

Mellissa, founder of Tiny but Mighty Kitten Rescue (in Ontario, Canada), came across an online listing about two kittens needing help. They were just four weeks old and had been left behind by their mom.

"I knew by the picture that I had to rescue them. I drove off to Alexandria that morning and picked these babies up," Mellissa shared.

The kittens were covered in filth and very hungry. After getting their bellies filled, the pair curled up together in a warm bed before purring themselves to sleep.

The kittens, Ace (black and white) and Indie (grey), quickly settled into their new abode. After a much-needed bath, they turned into the fluffiest tiny puff balls.

"Indie weighed in at one pound and Ace was 1.2 pounds. They were officially professional bottle drinkers."

With a roof over their heads, the kittens came out of their shells and even started to explore. It didn't take long for Mellissa to notice the special bond they shared.

They were like two peas in a pod, completely inseparable.

As they got bigger, their appetite soared. The brother and sister duo demanded their bottles every two hours and ate to their heart's content.

As soon as Ace cried for food or snacks, Indie followed suit and formed a little feline duet with her brother.

Ace was very brave and packed with endless energy. Indie followed his lead and didn't want to miss out on the action. After every play session, the little fluff balls would snuggle up together to recharge before their next round of roughhousing.

"Ace's pillow aka baby Indie purred so much that his head bobbed (when they napped)," Mellissa shared.

When the feline siblings were ready to learn to eat from a dish, they did it together, side by side, as if to cheer each other on.

If they weren't eating or sleeping, they were busy bouncing around the kitten room, creating all sorts of antics until they wore themselves out.

The kittens liked to do everything as a duo. They rubbed off on each other and even used the litter box together.

Mellissa upgraded their suite with a new cat tree to climb on. In no time, the two besties made their way to the top together and cuddled.

Indie is the sassy princess who loves giving others kisses, and Ace is a fearless boy who doesn't seem to have a pause button when he plays.

Ace loves his sister so much that if she isn't near, he will immediately seek her out.

"(One time), I carried Indie upstairs to quickly grab something for the kitten room, and Ace started screaming his head off!"

"When they were spayed and neutered, the hardest part of their day wasn't their surgeries. It was being apart from each other in their own separate carriers (at the vet)," Mellissa added.

"They were so happy to be together again when they got home."

When it came time to find their forever home, Mellissa knew that they were a packaged deal and couldn't be separated. A little while later, a great family came along and welcomed them both into their loving home.

"I met their forever family and knew instantly that it was a perfect fit! I am so happy for these two love bugs," Mellissa said.

Ace and Indie are all grown up now, but some things never change.

"These two can't live without one another. They always have to be next to each other to sleep," their forever family wrote.

"They play hard, sleep hard, and are always together."
